Imagination
Imagination is the key, the starter yeast, the seed, the door. People who like to dismiss imagination as harmless and/or meaningless are really just hoping to putter about in their negative fantasies with impunity. Many people hide behind their fantasies and little plays for revenge, intimidation, and lost self-control, hoping to avoid caring with 
no consequences, with no impact back on them. But life doesn't work that way, and we do well to feel compassion for those who are suffering in these mistakes. When we try to imagine something nicer, better, and smoother every day, we like the results fast enough.
