Bon masks
It would be as impossible to list all the beautiful images of gods, goddesses, angels, and demons of the various earth religions as it would be to know which ones were actually seen by an artist. Eastern religions particularly emphasize the altered states that would make it plausible that many icons were drawn from real astral beings - here, in a 1906 painting of a Bon festival, the pre-Buddhist shamanic religion of Tibet, we see face masks that could depict known astral dwellers.
