| Here we see a drawing and a painting by Rosaleen Norton, a New Zealand occult artist born in 1917 and moved to Australia. She was persecuted for pagan beliefs despite being found innocent of obscenity charges in 1949, and became the recluse known as 'the Witch of Kings Cross'. Her studies of magick, psychology, and trance which empowered her supernatural and sometimes frightening works have been admired by other modern trance occult artists including Aster sasa Anstar. |
