Tuella and Ashtar
Here we see the painting of the benificent extra-terrestrial commander "Ashtar", as adorns a 1994 book by Tuella, who was a primary initial channeler for Ashtar and his guiding spaceship league. The Ashtar Command has become a world-wide phenomenon characterized by many loosely organized itinerant channelers who bring the gospel of a kind of Christian-UFO second coming, piloted by many characters from multicultural myth as well as Christian faith. Jesus is present as Lord Sananda, with Saint Germain also prominent, as excited connections are made between Biblical prophecies, earth energies, and modern UFO sightings. The movement is clearly complex and multi-faceted, and is generally quite positive, emphasizing personal evolvement (ascension) and preparation for astral and/or physical contact. Some apocalyptic and elitist tendencies might merit concerned watching, but perhaps no more so than any other belief system oriented toward literal salvations.

Tuella is the soul name for the woman who was born Thelma Terrel. In fact, Tuella was said to be a walk-in, which is the controversial proposal for a soul exchange in which the body is handed over by a person who is done with their incarnation to a higher being for continued good works, as overseen by the "Great Karmic Board". Walk-inism became a popular claim in the early New Age movement, often leaving unclear the relationship between the walk-in and departed souls (lower to higher selves, or unrelated?) while generating new publicity. People who say possession is not possible find the concept flawed in presentation at best. Whatever the explanation, the birth of Tuella in Thelma did mark a fruitful new spiritual career which included many inspired lectures and books ("On Earth Assignment" being perhaps the best known), until Tuella's death in 1993. Her legacy was apparently passed on to Inner Light Publications as well as Debbie Wright at the Guardian Activation International organization.
