Rick Veitch
Here we have a page from the wonderful world of comic artist Rick Veitch's dreams. Rick has been a dedicated oneironaut (dream explorer) for over 25 years, and in the 1990's on a challenge from comics art (sequential art) champion Scott McCloud, Rick began transcribing his dream journals into quick yet detailed comics he dubbed the Rare Bit Fiends. As the full potential of the comics medium may still flounder in adolescent imagery, Rick's work stands tall above the crowd, for true modern-day dream evangelism in its most exciting form. Rick's dreams are honest and human, full of creative spirit and often delineating first-rate metaphysical adventures, such as OBEs, meeting with spirits and guides, and time travel. In 1995, the President of the Association for the Study of Dreams (Jeremy Taylor of the ASD) was asked what he thought was the single most important development in dream study that year. He answered without hesitation "The appearance of that new comic book - you know - Roarin' Rick's Rare Bit Fiends."
